The Right Kind of Family
In episode 4 of The Right Kind of Family, our reporters travel back to Spain, a country which has become a model in the development of progressive transgender rights at the national and regional level.
In 2023, the Spanish Congress passed the so-called Trans Law, which focuses primarily on allowing individuals to change their name and gender on ID cards without requiring medical reports.
However, Spain is also a country which saw the birth of the VOX, a party whose political platform hinges about the concept of "gender idoleology". Crucially, VOX is also one of the initiators of the Political Network for Values.
Undestanding the rise of the Political Network for Values implies understanding how gender politics has shaped Spain and Europe over the past two decades.

In Folge 4 von „Die rechte Familie“ reisen unsere Reporter zurück nach Spanien, einem Land, das auf nationaler und regionaler Ebene zu einem Vorbild für die Entwicklung fortschrittlicher Transgender-Rechte geworden ist. Im Jahr 2023 verabschiedete der spanische Kongress das sogenannte Transgesetz, das in erster Linie darauf abzielt, dass Personen ihren Namen und ihr Geschlecht in Ausweispapieren ohne ärztliches Attest ändern können.
Spanien ist aber auch das Land, in dem die Partei VOX entstanden ist, deren politisches Programm sich um das Konzept der „Gender-Ideologie“ dreht. VOX ist außerdem einer der Initiatoren des Politischen Netzwerks für Werte. Um den Aufstieg des Political Network for Values zu verstehen, muss man wissen, wie die Geschlechterpolitik Spanien und Europa in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten geprägt hat.

Comprender el auge de la Red Política por los Valores implica comprender cómo la política de género ha configurado España y Europa en las últimas dos décadas. Para entender esto, viajamos a España, un país que en 2023 aprobó la llamada Ley Trans, que se centra principalmente en permitir a las personas cambiar su nombre y género en los documentos de identidad sin necesidad de informes médicos. Pero el proceso La historia de Eva Pascual, madre de un adolescente trans muestra cómo las personas trans fueron las menos escuchadas en casi dos años de discusión parlamentaria. En ese tiempo, VOX, impulsor de la Red Política por los Valores, peleó contra la ley amparándose en la llamada "ideología de género", pero ¿de dónde viene esa teoría?
