Sea of Rage

Sea of Rage' is the first co-production born within WePod, the European journalistic podcast project financed by the European Union led by PRISA Media in which 8 partners from 7 countries working together for 2 years will produce 24 cross-border podcasts.

In this first co-production, Podium Podcast, in Spain, and Chora Media, in Italy, have focused on the impact that drug trafficking has on two small coastal towns in southern Europe: Barbate, in Spain and Gioia Tauro, in Italy.

The journalists Manu Tomillo and Javi Caminero, from Podium Podcast, and the Italian journalist Francesca Berardi, from Chora Media, guide us through the streets of Barbate and Gioia Tauro to make us participate in the reality in which its inhabitants live, who, in 1941 kilometers apart, share large unemployment figures, complaints against institutions, problems associated with drug trafficking and silence. But also, the dignity of  the neighbors who fight to recover their peace and make their land a better place to live.

'Mar de Rabia’ and ‘Mare di Rabbia’ are a weekly series of 6 episodes that will premiere next Friday, October 4th for the Spanish version, and October 11th for the Italian one.

Within the framework of WePod, 'Mar de Rabia' and 'Mare di Rabbia' will have an English version, 'Sea of rage', produced by Europod, which will be released in the coming months.
